We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Production Process Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary
The Production Process Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and optimizing existing manufacturing processes to reduce costs, improve sustainability, and implement best practices. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe and reliable production system while enhancing efficiency, quality, and output. A key part of this role will be supporting new product introduction (NPI) to ensure smooth transitions from design to manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with process documents, including working instructions, workmanship standards, and process flow charts.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen activities to enhance production rates, efficiency, and yield.
- Implement mistake-proofing solutions and effective line-balancing strategies to optimize the manufacturing process.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams on quality and safety initiatives, including FPY (First Pass Yield), OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and SQDCI (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory) metrics.
- Apply the Theory of Constraints (TOC) to identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Conduct statistical analysis (Cpk, Ppk, GR&R) to ensure process capability and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate on corrective actions, root cause analysis (8D), and customer complaints.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by providing feedback on lessons learned and collaborating with R&D and design teams to improve manufacturability and assembly.
- Develop and implement systems to optimize all production phases, working with test and maintenance teams to automate or semi-automate processes.
- Manage projects on time and within budget, including developing ROI and payback analyses.
- Ensure all processes comply with company safety and environmental policies.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
- English proficiency (written and spoken) at a minimum of 80%.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive industry.
- 3+ years of experience in process development and technology transfer.
- Proven experience in New Product Introduction (NPI).
Required Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Expertise in process management tools, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and Risk Assessments.
- Advanced skills in line balancing and time studies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause and fault tree analysis.
- Proven history of improving supply chain efficiency.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAE and SolidWorks engineering tools is a plus.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong team player with excellent communication and analytical skills.
