About the Role
Air Sharks is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our growing California-based workforce. We are looking for an HR professional with hands-on experience in California employment law, compliance, employee relations, onboarding, and policy development.
This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, ensure HR compliance, and continuously improve HR processes while supporting employees and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through offboarding.
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws and employment regulations.
- Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, SOPs, employee handbooks, and HR documentation.
- Build and organize the company's HR document library.
- Manage employee onboarding, including required employment documentation and compliance.
- Handle employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations.
- Respond to EDD unemployment claims and employment verification requests.
- Administer employee leave, including CFRA, FMLA, Paid Sick Leave, PDL, and other applicable leave programs.
- Conduct HR compliance audits and recommend process improvements.
- Partner with managers on employee performance, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with record retention requirements.
- Support HR projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience, supporting California-based employees.
Strong background of the following:
- California Labor Code
- Meal and Rest Break requirements
- Exempt vs. Non-Exempt classifications
- Wage and Hour compliance
- CFRA and FMLA
- California Paid Sick Leave
- EDD unemployment claims
- I-9 compliance and onboarding
- Employee handbook and policy development
- HR documentation and compliance
- Experience handling employee relations and workplace investigations.
- Experience creating or maintaining HR policies, SOPs, and HR documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience using HRIS platforms is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting HR compliance audits.
- Knowledge of Cal-OSHA requirements.
- Experience supporting a fast-paced or multi-state organization.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay: $27,000.00 - $33,000.00 per month
