Position Summary:
Provides leadership, guidance and direction to the accounting team within a business unit/group. Develops and implements internal controls and monitors success to minimize risk. Partners with business leader(s) to drive business results and strategy. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports. Manages business unit/group accounting, budgeting, management reporting and analysis, other financial systems and methods within general corporate guidelines and regulatory requirements. Manages and develops the accounting team driving the close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Develops and implements continuous process improvements. Manages general accounting function(s) and develops team responsible for the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results for the business unit/group. Develops processes and controls to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Corporate accounting standards/policies. Drives consistency in processes, tools, formats, and templates to mitigate risk. Partners with strategic business unit leaders on the development of operating reviews, annual operating plans, and long range planning processes. Implements financial plans and policies for the business unit.
Major Responsibilities and Authorities:
- Financial Information is reported accurately and timely.
- Ensure Internal Controls are followed within the facility.
- Provide financial or tax information to internal and external users.
- Ensure Tax compliance per internal and governmental requirements.
- Oversee Treasury activities within the facility.
- Oversee all accounting activities within the facility.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience;
- Advanced degree preferred. 8+ years.
- Accounting Certification Preferred (ex. CPA, ACA or Financial).
- Experience on similar positions; such as cost, tax or controllership activities.
- Experience on Financial analysis.
- System skills: Oracle, Hyperion, Microsoft Office (mostly advanced Excel).
- Leadership and Managerial skills.
- Effective communication skills.
