Core Molding Technologies is seeking a Financial Analyst / Cost Accountant to support the financial performance of our manufacturing operations through accurate cost accounting, financial analysis, inventory controls, and business reporting.
This role is responsible for maintaining standard costing, analyzing manufacturing variances, supporting month-end close activities, monitoring inventory accuracy, and partnering with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve profitability and drive informed business decisions.

Maintain and update standard cost structures, including material, labor, and overhead rates

Analyze manufacturing cost variances, including PPV, labor, overhead, usage, and efficiency

Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and cost structures within the ERP system

Support monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and cost reporting
-
Prepare profitability analysis by product, customer, and manufacturing process
-
Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations
-
Track manufacturing KPIs including scrap, labor efficiency, inventory performance, and cost trends
-
Evaluate the financial impact of engineering changes, new product launches, and operational improvements

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

Develop cost models and financial analyses to support business decisions

Assist with internal and external audits while maintaining strong financial controls

Partner with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to identify cost reduction opportunities

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

4-6 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis within a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of:

Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Plex, Epicor, or similar)

Manufacturing experience required; automotive or plastics experience preferred

Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools
