Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager will serve as a senior member of the Mexico leadership team, reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of HR in Guadalajara, including compliance and policy development, employee relations, payroll, leadership development, compensation and benefits, union negotiations, and local talent acquisition.
The ideal candidate is a strategic HR leader with proven experience in hospitality or large-scale call center environments, strong labor law expertise, and a successful track record of managing employee relations and union partnerships in Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on all HR-related matters.
- Build and implement HR strategies that align with company objectives and local regulations.
- Lead change management initiatives and drive continuous improvement in HR practices.
Compliance & Policies
- Design and implement HR policies and procedures that ensure full compliance with Mexican labor laws.
- Stay ahead of legislative changes and proactively adjust internal policies.
- Partner with labor attorneys and executive leadership to resolve complex HR compliance issues.
Employee Relations
- Manage high-level employee relations cases, conflict resolution, and investigations with discretion and fairness.
- Guide and coach managers in handling performance issues, progressive discipline, and employee engagement strategies.
- Champion initiatives that build a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
Payroll & HR Operations
- Oversee all payroll activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Ensure employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation are complete and audit-ready.
- Respond to audits, labor inspections, and authority requests with confidence and accuracy.
Training & Leadership Development
- Build and deliver leadership development programs to prepare young leaders for future management roles.
- Identify organizational training needs and design structured development plans.
- Oversee compliance with mandatory training requirements and drive professional development.
Talent Acquisition
- Lead end-to-end recruitment strategies to hire top hospitality and call center professionals.
- Develop talent pipelines for key positions and maintain a proactive approach to staffing.
- Implement best practices to reduce turnover and strengthen retention.
Compensation & Benefits
- Design and manage competitive compensation structures and benefits programs.
- Conduct market benchmarking to ensure pay and benefits remain competitive.
- Partner with vendors and internal leadership on benefits strategy and execution.
Union & Labor Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the workers’ union.
- Negotiate and manage collective bargaining agreements.
- Build collaborative relationships with union representatives to ensure stable and productive labor relations.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) – professional fluency required.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR management role.
- Demonstrated experience in call center environments with 200+ employees, or in the hospitality and travel industries.
- Proven expertise in Mexican labor law, compliance, and union negotiations.
- Strong track record of leading HR strategy, policy design, and organizational development.
- Advanced proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, OneDrive).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- High integrity with ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in HR or related field.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar HR certification.
- Experience leading HR in a call center, multinational or US-based company with operations in Mexico.
