This is a Sr. Financial Analyst job description for positions that exist within each SBS team.
These SBS teams include, but are not limited to, Fixed Assets, General Accounting and Account Reconciliations. Sr. Analysts are responsible for handling a variety of high volume transactional financial activities and tasks within their teams that support operations in the region, generally with a higher degree of efficiency and effectiveness than Analysts and Jr. Analysts. Sr. Analysts also perform some leadership activities within their teams, as well as serve as initial point of escalation for issues related to both internal and external customers. All activities must be performed in accordance with a tight system of internal controls.

Prepare and review reconciliations between systems and point-of-sale (POS) data, proactively identifying, analyzing, and resolving discrepancies, as well as validating the proper application of service charges, cash flows, and accounting entries.
Execute the monthly bank reconciliation process independently, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of reconciliations between bank deposits and POS records.
Analyze and manage complex bank memoranda, validating the correct application of accounting adjustments and ensuring timely follow-up through resolution.
Identify, investigate, and follow up on variances such as overages, shortages, delayed deposits, and unidentified deposits, ensuring compliance with internal policies while recommending process improvements.
Administer and control non-sufficient funds (NSF) checks, ensuring proper classification, accurate accounting recording, effective communication with relevant stakeholders, and implementation of preventive measures.
Ensure the integrity, quality, and availability of reconciliation documentation, including deposit reports, bank memoranda, and supporting evidence required for internal and external audits.
Coordinate and maintain effective communication with stores, banks, and internal departments to resolve significant variances, acting as an escalation point for critical issues.
Design, maintain, and enhance control files and tracking reports, ensuring visibility of incidents, variances, and open items through to resolution.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in reconciliation and control processes, proposing and implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and financial accuracy.
Provide support, guidance and review of junior analysts' work, ensuring adherence to standards, policies, and best pracrices within the team.
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience
Preferred:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
-
4-5 years of experience in relevant finance activities such as: General Accounting and Accounts Bank Reconciliations.

Must have a good understanding of accounting principles.

Very good experience with Microsoft Office

Very good knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle R12 / Cloud, SAP, etc.)
Preferred:

3 years of experience in relevant finance activities such as: Fixed Assets, General Accounting and Accounts Reconciliations.

Advanced English (Must be able to Speak, Write and Read)
Preferred:

Knowledge of S-W systems – OneStream, Oracle, Oracle Cloud, OnBase, Access, etc.

Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.
