POSITION SUMMARY
- On this position Product Desing Engineer creates 3D models and bill of materials (BOMS) for projects with minimal supervision of Design Engineering Supervisor or Advance Lead Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Entry Level +:
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing during production and testing
- Work with minimal direction of Supervisor or Lead Advance Engineer
- Complete general design tasks independently according to Supervisor program plan
- Works on projects of modeled scope and complexity
- Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes action to resolve
- Applies judgment within defined parameters
- Participate in group discussions and Web Meetings regarding projects
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering disciplines
- (1-3) years of experience in product engineering or mechanical design
- Demonstrates understanding of the product design workflow, specifications, and requirements, professional knowledge and product knowledge.
- Ability to systematically solve issues by troubleshooting through practice
- Ability to read, interpret technical drawings.
- Ability to work as a team
- Have a basic understanding of sheet metal design, manufacturing practices and processes
- Intermediate experience:
- English required (read, write and speak)
- MS Office Software – such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- 3D Cad software as Autodesk Inventor, PTC Creo, SolidWorks or others
- Solid parts, large assemblies
- 3D sheet metal parts and welded structural steel frames
- 3D piping/conduit from 2D layout
- Create and maintain bill of materials (BOMS)
- Cad Vault systems such Agile EC, Autodesk Vault or others
- PLM systems such Oracle or others
