We are currently seeking a Molding Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) We are searching for a highly motivated and experienced Molding Production Supervisor with a strong background in the automotive industry to lead our 2nd shift Manufacturing team in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. This critical role ensures the daily execution of production schedules, team management, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards on the shop floor.
Job Description The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and lead the 2nd shift molding production operations. The supervisor will oversee production operators and technicians, ensuring the achievement of Key Process Indicators (KPIs) in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Human Resources. This position ensures smooth shift transitions and acts as the first line of response for operational issues on the floor.
Key Responsibilities and Content
- Production Management: Oversee 2nd shift molding operations to ensure production schedules, cycle times, and volume quotas are met efficiently without compromising quality.
- Team Leadership & HR: Manage, coach, and motivate a team of production operators and setup personnel. Handle daily administrative tasks including attendance tracking, shift scheduling, performance feedback, and conflict resolution.
- Safety and Compliance: Actively promote a "safety-first" culture. Enforce compliance with all safety rules, PPE usage, and 5S standards. Lead daily shift briefings and participate in incident reporting.
- Quality Control: Ensure all operators strictly follow standard work instructions (IP/OP) and Critical to Quality (CTQs) guidelines. React immediately to quality alerts, help reduce scrap rates, and support QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) activities on the floor.
- Operational Efficiency (4M Management): Coordinate the availability and proper use of Manpower, Machinery, Materials, and Methods (4M) during the shift. Escalate complex process or machinery issues to Process Engineers and Maintenance teams promptly.
- Continuous Improvement: Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives on the floor, encouraging operators to identify waste and participate in basic problem-solving and continuous improvement ideas.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Production Supervisor in Plastic Injection Molding, specifically within the Automotive Industry.
- Shift Availability: Must be fully available to work the 2nd Shift and manage shift handovers effectively.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Administration, or a related field. (Candidates without a degree but with extensive proven supervisory experience in molding will also be considered).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of injection molding floor operations, 5S, Lean Manufacturing basics, and automotive quality standards awareness (such as TS 16949 / IATF 16949).
- Language: Intermediate conversational English required (capable of understanding documentation, writing basic reports, and participating in meetings).
