Job Description
Position Summary
The Demand Visibility Specialist position is a key role responsible for acting as a single point of contact for assigned multi-wave, multi-BU projects to ensure proper collection and integration of project intelligence which is used by the Demand Planners to drive downstream supply chain processes to prepare for actual customer demand. This position will act as a crucial link between various departments and external partners to facilitate information sharing and ensure alignment of demand plans across the organization. Better understanding future customer demand will allow for improved decision making for integrated business planning. To ensure the reliability and validity of project inputs, tracking its quality is crucial; this position will assist in preparing and distributing process health information for internal and external stakeholders. This role is also responsible for gathering AON process and tool feedback, then coordinating accordingly to drive improvements. Responsibility also extends to keeping AON process and training documents current and participating in sessions with internal and external partners as an advocate for project submissions. The position reports to the Demand Planning Center of Excellence Manager in the Materials organization and will take work direction from the Demand Visibility Manager.
Major Responsibilities
- Drive cross functional and external partner collaboration for assigned large multi-wave, multi-BU projects to obtain relevant data and insights for Demand Planners to integrate into the future forecast horizon.
- Communicate significant changes to ISC stakeholders for existing AONs (BOM, timing).
- Support AON process health monitoring and communication efforts inside and outside the organization.
- Work with internal Data Center Industry partners to improve information sharing practices for opportunity funnel insights and AON alignment.
- Coordinate with the DMI team for Event PO processing based on the project schedule.
- Assist with driving AON process and tool improvement efforts based on internal and external feedback.
- Review AON process overview and training documents / videos on a regular basis to assess effectiveness, update content with current information, and to ensure it's engaging for learners.
- Contribute to strategy development and practices for the follow up and translation of raw project data / longer term intelligence into structured AON inputs.
- Collaborate with CRM / CC counterparts to ensure seamless transition from project order preparation to project order execution for assigned projects.
Education, Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Supply Chain or Operations Management focus; other majors will be considered.
- Minimum 5 yrs experience in supply chain related roles with 2-3 years of demand planning or related experience preferred.
- Ability to work and influence effectively cross functionally and across multiple levels of management.
- Possess the business acumen and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across departments and with external partners.
- Ability to propose new ideas and approaches and bring creative ideas to fruition.
- Proven critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to plan and organize work to effectively perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated proficiency in demand planning methods with an understanding of the financial and operational impacts.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to adapt presentation style to all levels of the organization.
Rockwell Automation’s hybrid policy aligns that employees are expected to work at a Rockwell location at least Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays unless they have a business obligation out of the office.
