As an Engineer II for Bathing Shower &Styling Space category, you’ll play a critical role in bringing innovative consumer products to life – products that balance beautiful design, technical excellence, and real-world manufacturability. You’ll transform early concepts into high-quality products used by consumers every day. Understands manufacturing realities, with experience designing for processes such as casting, forging, stamping, injection molding, machining, welding, tube bending, hydroforming, plating, and fabrication.
enjoys solving complex problems, confidently evaluating designs and continuously optimizing performance, cost, and quality.
Works effectively across regions and cultures, partnering with global engineering teams and suppliers.
Specific responsibilities:
Executes complex engineering projects involving development of new products and changes to existing products including specification, concept, design, qualification, and verification of products and sub-assemblies.
Creates and maintains product specifications to meet Kohler’s performance and quality standards as well as regulatory requirements for intended regions.
Apply standard engineering tools such as: DFMEA, T-stack ups, DVP&R, CAD (CREO), Bills of Materials (SAP), GD&T, FEA.
Utilize core tools modules such as SPC (CPK and PPK), PPAPs and PPR.
Coordinates engineering activities with other functional areas, remote plants, suppliers, and contractors.
Hard Skills
Full understanding of product design and development process.
Able to create and defend tolerance stack-up analysis
Moderate understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Moderate understanding in design verification and validation (DVP&Rs).
Root cause analysis and problem-solving advocate.
Competitive product benchmarking seeker.
Technical feasibility assessments.
Regulatory and standards compliance.
Moderate use of CREO CAD software to model and/or inspect 3D files, revision of assemblies and 2D drawings.
CAD data management (Windchill or similar).
Moderate understanding of materials science, especially for Metal, Glass, Wood and finishes for selection.
Moderate on Design for variability applications, such as DFSS, Process Capability (CPK), DFM, DFA.

Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Engineer II Level:
Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of mechanical engineering experience.
International and domestic travel as needed.
Master in mechanical design or innovation optional.
