Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer II at Microsoft, you’ll be part of a team of world-class engineers leveraging cutting-edge Microsoft Cloud and AI technologies to deliver modern, scalable, and intelligent systems that drive the Microsoft business forward.

Design, develop, deploy, and operate scalable cloud-based data, analytics, automation and tooling solutions using modern data platforms and Cloud services.
Apply engineering best practices as you design and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. Own your solution end-to-end through design, implementation, and operations.
Collaborate cross-functionally across stakeholders, product managers, and other engineers to deliver integrated, customer-focused experiences.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Curiosity, collaboration mindset, and a passion for solving real-world customer problems.
5+ years of strong programming skills in one or ideally more languages:
Core Development
C# / .NET Core – Back-end services, Azure Functions, enterprise APIs.
TypeScript / JavaScript – Front-end development, SPFx for Teams/SharePoint, custom Power Apps components.
DAX – Power BI measures and modeling.
Power Fx – Power Apps logic and advanced formulas.
T-SQL – Querying and shaping data from Azure SQL, Synapse, or Fabric Warehouse.
HTML/CSS – UI customization and responsive layouts.
Light Data Engineering
Power Query / M Language – Transform data in Power BI, Fabric Dataflows, or Data Marts.
Fabric Data Pipelines – Basic ingestion/transformation from common sources (Dataverse, SharePoint, Azure SQL, REST APIs).
Python – Light ETL or data cleanup in Fabric Notebooks or Azure Functions.
Synapse Serverless SQL – Create/modify views or small transformations.
Data Modeling Principles – Star/snowflake schema and semantic layer creation.
Azure Storage Basics – Work with Azure Data Lake Gen2 for file-based data.
Business fluency in English to read, write, and speak.
