Customs General Supervisor
Qualifications:

Proven experience managing IMMEX programs, and deep knowledge of related Mexican customs legislation.

Strong experience with HTS classification, origin and valuation analysis, and compliance reporting.

Ability to interpret and apply USMCA/T-MEC and other relevant trade agreements.

Experience managing customs audits and dealing with Mexican customs authorities.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage all import and export activities in compliance with Mexican customs laws and IMMEX regulations, including but not limited to USMCA, Rule 8, Certificate of Origin, etcetera.

Serve as the official company representative in all customs-related communications, audits, and inspections, aligning with other management areas of the organization, as well as our corporate guidance.

Supervise and coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation companies their everyday activities related to Customs Compliance.

Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for import/export operations, including pediments, invoices, certificates of origin, and relevant manifests.

Monitor changes in customs and trade regulations and proactively implement necessary changes to policies and procedures.

Oversee classification of goods, harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) code assignment, valuation, and country of origin determination along our third-party providers.

Maintain digital and physical records for all customs operations in accordance with internal policies and Mexican regulations.

Maintain accurate inventory systems, including Annex 24 and Annex 30, along a systematization of controls and consistent self-assessments, along familiarity with software related to inventory control systems.

Lead frequent & periodic customs compliance audits (internal and external) and develop/implement corrective action plans for observed deficiencies.
