Name of the Project: IA multiple orders & Wrap-up code automation with IA Internship
Vice Presidency: Commercial Processes & Digital Services
Region: Central
Intern’s Location (Office): Campus Cemex
Eligible Semester(s): 5th or 6th semester
Careers of Interest: Industrial Engineering, Computer systems, or related
Schedule Availability: Between 25 and 30 hours per week
Period of Stay at CEMEX: 6 months, with the option of renewal
Tentative Start Date: August 2026
Project Objective
The intern will collaborate on enhancing the accuracy of the automated Wrap-Up Code (WUC) assignment for customer interactions in USA Service Centers. By supporting the testing, validation, and continuous improvement of AI models that classify customer interactions (calls, emails, and SMS). Additionally, the intern will contribute to enhancing training and identifying opportunities to automate testing processes. The intern will also collaborate in the definition, validation, and continuous maintenance of an AI-driven product model designed to enable multi-order creation for customers of Ready-Mix business line within the Cemex Go. The objective is to optimize the digital ordering experience, ensure business logic accuracy, and support the integration of intelligent features into Cemex Go.
Challenges for the Students
- Understanding business rules for call classification and WUC assignment.
- Proposing scalable solutions for test automation.
- Rapidly understanding the operation and specific business rules of the Ready-Mix business line.
- Translating complex user behaviors and data patterns into clear, actionable requirements for AI model alignment.
- Testing and validating AI outputs — ensuring the AI model's results stay consistent with human logic and accurately reflect user intent, through functional testing and certification.
- Understanding complex, domain-specific business rules and how they should translate into correct AI behavior.
- Identifying edge cases and ambiguous scenarios in real customer/user interactions.
Main Responsibilities and Activities to Be Carried Out
- Execute functional testing / UAT of the AI model — comparing its outputs against expected results and business rules to confirm it meets the expected platform behaviors and UX standards.
- Document findings, discrepancies, edge cases, and updates to the project model.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data, development, product, business) to monitor and maintain the project model.
- Execute testing of AI-generated WUC classifications across calls, emails, and SMS.
- Support the creation and refinement of AI training materials. Analyze patterns of misclassification and propose improvements.
- Propose and support automation initiatives for testing processes.
- Support the definition and documentation of user stories, functional requirements, and business rules for the AI multi-order feature.
- Map current user flows within Cemex Go to help identify gaps or improvement areas for the multi-order creation process.
