The Automation Technician performs and ensures the validation of new equipment, from the supplier's delivery to its installation and validation on-site. Ensuring delivery to the manufacturing team is working correctly.
General Responsibilities
- Develops services and calibrates test equipment by making regular performance inspections, planning preventative maintenance and repairing defective equipment or systems.
- Performs repairs and preventative actions on equipment within the production.
- Develops the deployment of new equipment.
- Maintains preventive actions with a real risk of equipment or infrastructure problems.
- Proposes correction and continuous improvement events for the performance of production equipment.
- Supports in diagnostic tasks and repair of various production equipment, following the best safety practices and minimizing downtime due to equipment breakdown.
- Timely informs the supervisor and relevant staff about maintenance issues related to the technological equipment during unplanned repairs.

- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
General Responsibilities
- Leads deployment of new equipment or automation improvements.
- Analysis and correction of problems during new equipment validation.
- Creation/modification documentation and include equipment in actual systems (ITE, SEE, Citrix, etc)
- Machine assembly for local automations.
- Seek improvements in current manual processes in order to automate them.
Experience / Qualifications
- Relevant work experience or knowledge about Automation.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve results to delivery on time.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Experience in assembling electrical cabinets for automation.
- Programming skills in some of the following areas are desirable (Medium-High experience):
Structured Language (C++, Visual basic)
Solid Works (modeling and assembly, simulation)
PLC (Allen Bradley (Studio 5000, Rslogix 500), Mitsubishi (Gx Works 3), Omron (Cx one))
HMI screens (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Proface)
Optional:
SQL Server management
CAD (Draftsight, AutoCad)
Optional skills:- Knowledge of statistical tools for equipment validation, such as:
MSA attributes and variables.
Process capability (Cpk), Pareto, and Poka-Yoke implementation.
Cycle time, PPH.
Root cause tools (A3 or 8D).
