Overview:
SSOE Group is seeking a Piping & Plumbing Engineer to join our growing team in Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and coordination of plumbing, utility, and industrial piping systems for manufacturing, industrial, commercial, and mission-critical facilities.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of plumbing and piping systems, experience in multidisciplinary project environments, and the ability to independently develop engineering solutions while supporting junior engineers and designers.

Responsibilities:
The following duties are representative of the position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

Perform engineering and design of plumbing and industrial piping systems in accordance with project requirements, client standards, and applicable codes.

Prepare and review piping and plumbing layouts, utility distribution systems, equipment arrangements, specifications, and engineering calculations.

Design systems including:
- Domestic water

Sanitary and industrial waste
-
Storm drainage
-
Natural gas
-
Compressed air
-
Process water
-
Hot water systems
-
Specialty utility piping systems
-
Develop and review P&IDs, piping plans, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, calculation reports, and construction documents.

Create and review 3D models using Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or equivalent software.

Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and equipment selection for pumps, tanks, compressors, water heaters, and associated system components.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to designers and junior engineers.

Ensure deliverables meet quality standards, project schedules, and budget requirements.

Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.

Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, HVAC, Fire Protection, Structural, Electrical, Architectural, and Civil disciplines to ensure integrated designs.

Review shop drawings, RFIs, and vendor submittals for technical compliance.

Support construction activities by responding to contractor questions and participating in field observations.

May assist in preparing technical specifications, engineering estimates, project schedules, and proposals.

May conduct site visits, field surveys, and existing-condition assessments.
Qualifications:
What You Will Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related.

Professional Title and Cedula Professional required.

Minimum of 5-7 years of direct experience in piping engineering and design for industrial or manufacturing projects.

Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal) required.

Experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, Pipe-Flo or similar hydraulic analysis software is preferred.

Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (IPC, UPC, ASPE, ASME B31 series, NFPA, IBC, ASTM, Applicable NOM’s) preferred.

Experience developing engineering calculations and technical reports for plumbing and utility systems.

Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently with limited supervision while mentoring junior team members.

Travel required.
