As the TVAD Ad Operations Specialist, you play a crucial role in the end-to-end management of Linear TV media logs, ensuring traditional television advertisements air correctly as ordered. Your primary focus involves high-level coordination between internal Linear Buyers and external television networks to reconcile media spend and performance data. You will operate independently with minimal supervision, using your specialized expertise in Linear TV alongside a foundational understanding of digital ad serving to ensure seamless campaign execution and data integrity.
As the TVAD Ad Operations Specialist, you will:
Log Collection & Ingestion: Proactively collect Pre-logs and Post-logs from assigned television networks.
Operational Deadlines: Ensure all data is uploaded into the proprietary app by established weekly deadlines, primarily every Tuesday.
Parsing & Data Validation: Verify that spend and spot totals within the application match physical network logs to ensure accuracy and completeness of work.
Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical discrepancies, such as duplicated logs, system errors, or inconsistencies between the app and the log.
Spot Reconciliation (Recon): Analyze post-logs against original media orders to identify erroneous airings.
Discrepancy Investigation: Flag and investigate common issues, including ads running during paid programming, incorrect creative assets (ISCI codes), or violations of spot separation rules.
Credit Memo & Financial Management: Exercise professional judgment to determine when to credit spots and manage the end-to-end Credit Memo process—from generation and network distribution to tracking through completion—to ensure final client invoices are accurate.
Liaison & Coordination: Serve as a point of contact for networks to understand clearance abnormalities and relay these to the buyers.
Progress Reporting: Manage progress reporting via project management tools (Jira) to keep stakeholders informed of the reconciliation status.
Process Improvement: Proactively identify areas for efficiency by spotting trends for automation to streamline redundant tasks within the reconciliation workflow, ultimately increasing overall team productivity and operational efficiency.
Professional Qualifications:
Some prior experience in marketing or advertising is preferred.
Demonstrated project management and exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to balance complex workflows and proactively prioritize tasks against tight weekly deadlines.
Exceptional attention to detail for matching complex spend figures, spot rates, and ISCI codes.
Experience with ad servers (e.g., CM360, Innovid) and familiarity with the ad serving process from request to impression.
Working knowledge of digital technicals, including VAST tags, HTML, and basic ad specs.
Experience in at least one core Ad Ops function: Creative QA, Asset Management, Trafficking, or Reporting.
Familiarity with various media types, including Audio, Video (CTV/OTT, OLV), and Display.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, filtering, and pivot tables.
Competencies:
Analytical Problem-Solving: Aptitude for performing detailed research and analysis to resolve billing and delivery discrepancies.
Linear TV Concepts: Foundational understanding of Linear concepts, including Dayparts, Clearance inventory, Avails, and BVS watermarking.
Software Proficiency: Experience with Jira for task tracking and media buying/planning applications.
Adaptability & Initiative: A self-starter who adopts new processes quickly and suggests prioritization of work based on overall business needs.
Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between teams, partners, and networks.
