Bridges Purchasing and Materials, with primary responsibility for the cost-effective movement of materials and samples into and out of the company. The role selects and manages carriers, controls freight spend and administers import/export compliance – including Country of Origin (COO), Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, and U.S. customs matters – while supporting continuous improvement of internal and external material flows. Emphasis is placed equally on cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and reliable on-time delivery to provide the best value to the company. Works closely with the purchasing team.
Experience:

Main responsibilities:
- Select carriers with the best pricing for shipping or receiving samples from corporate, suppliers, or customers.
- Evaluate and select carriers during supplier replenishment/change processes.
- Manage payments to carriers and address their concerns and observations.
- Administer Focus Solutions, providing support on COO (Country of Origin), HTS, and U.S. customs matters.
- Support international shipments and manage tariff regulations to optimize costs.
- Manage the AFT service agreement.
- Review and reconcile regular and premium shipment invoices.
- Manage and follow up on all freight charge accounts.
- Support and complement Continuous Improvement initiatives related to INT/EXT material movements.
- Participate in APQP (EC/NPI) phases related to internal and external material movements.
Skills:
Related experience in purchasing, logistics, freight management, or trade compliance.
Hands-on experience with carrier selection, freight invoice audit, and import/export documentation
preferred.
Working knowledge of HTS / HS classification and Country of Origin determination.
Familiarity with U.S. customs processes and current tariff programs (Section 232, Section 301, Section 122,
USMCA).
Proficiency with ERP/logistics systems and trade-compliance tools (e.g., Focus Solutions).
Customs broker license, Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), or APICS/CPIM/CSCP certification is a plus.
Fluent English
Knowledge:
Strong analytical, negotiation, and cost-modelling skills.
Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, and attention to detail in invoice reconciliation.
High attention to detail and data accuracy
Clear written and verbal communication for working with carriers, brokers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Ability to operate in a close-driven, deadline-oriented environment
Hands-on mentality
Must be able to work independently
High degree of competence in MS Office applications
