Position: EHS Engineer / EHS Coordinator
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) professional to lead and strengthen our safety culture at our Reynosa manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Mexican regulations, driving workplace safety initiatives, managing environmental programs, and supporting continuous improvement across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Organize safety training programs for employees and contractors.
- Manage emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness activities.
- Monitor environmental compliance, waste management, and chemical handling procedures.
- Maintain EHS records, reports, permits, and regulatory documentation.
- Drive safety awareness and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.
- Support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other management systems as applicable.
- Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems preferred.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Spanish required; English proficiency preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing, composites, plastics, chemicals, cable, automotive, or industrial operations.
- Experience working in maquiladora environments.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and industrial safety programs.
