We are looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations and related tax inquiries, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. This position will have direct supervisor of one junior-level staff.
Position Summary:
Under direction of the Controller, the Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The position will also ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses and timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Essential Functions:
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts. Includes monthly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month end closing process.
- Assist with financial reporting deadlines being met and prepare financial management reports.
- Oversee the close process to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closes.
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures. Independently resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Reviews existing profitability initiatives with management teams.
- Reconcile the recording and analysis of revenues, expenses and balance sheet accounts. Review invoice activity processed and necessary accruals to ensure appropriate accounting and recording of information.
- Analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expense trends, financial commitments and future revenues.
- Demonstrate and drive a culture of continuous improvement in finance processes, including robust analytic capabilities and costing system improvements.
- Assist in the year end audit preparation.
Essential Requirements/Preferred Skills:
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint and database skills needed.
- Experience working with multiple companies and inter-company transactions.
- Demonstrates initiative and has a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

Education Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with a concentration in Accounting/Finance related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years of related experience; excellent analytical skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced system skills with ability to access data with various applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Budget Software tools).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; well organized with attention to details.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university and 7+ years of experience in the field. CPA a plus.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of software and systems, especially as relates to all modules of the ERP System (enterprise resource planning); along with browsers, spreadsheets, presentations, contact management, email and calendar.
