We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Collections Specialist to join our Global Business Center team. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building customer relationships and takes ownership of resolving complex payment issues.
The successful candidate will independently manage a portfolio of domestic and international accounts, drive collection efforts, troubleshoot invoicing and payment challenges, and collaborate across multiple functions to improve cash flow and reduce risk. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and experience with Mexican invoicing requirements, customer portals, and B2B collections are essential.
Senior Collections Specialist
Accounts Receivable & Collections

Manage a portfolio of domestic and international customer accounts and drive collection activities to achieve cash flow and aging targets.

Proactively contact customers by phone and email to collect past due balances, resolve payment issues, and build strong business relationships.

Investigate and resolve complex accounts receivable issues, including billing disputes, deductions, short payments, unapplied cash, and invoice discrepancies.

Analyze aging reports, payment trends, customer financial exposure, and collection performance to identify risks, recommend actions, and prioritize collection efforts.

Develop and execute collection strategies for high-risk, high-volume, and strategically important customer accounts while balancing cash flow, customer relationships, and business objectives.

Independently troubleshoot payment delays and determine appropriate escalation paths.

Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Legal, Genpact, GBC teams, and Credit Management to resolve issues and accelerate collections.

Partner with regional Credit Managers on strategic initiatives, reporting, process improvements, and special projects.

Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to improve collection effectiveness, cash flow, and operational efficiency.

Prepare collection reporting, account analyses, KPI reporting, and ad hoc requests to support business objectives.

Maintain accurate account documentation and collection notes within company systems.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

5+ years of B2B collections and accounts receivable experience in a fast-paced environment.

Proven ability to independently manage a portfolio and resolve complex collection issues.

Experience analyzing customer payment trends, financial exposure, and account risk.

Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and build strong business partnerships.

Proven ability to identify process improvements and work independently with minimal supervision.

Intermediate Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems and customer portals.

Experience reviewing financial statements or supporting credit risk assessments is considered an asset.

Credit & Risk Management

Perform customer credit reviews and financial analysis, providing recommendations to Credit Management regarding customer risk and credit limits.

Monitor customer financial exposure, payment performance, and changing risk profiles, escalating concerns and recommendations as appropriate.

Participate in credit hold reviews, partnering with the business to balance commercial objectives while minimizing financial risk.

Assist in developing credit recommendations through analysis of financial statements, payment history, external credit reports, and market conditions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to credit, collections, cash application, and accounts receivable processes.
