Your Team Responsibilities:
This is an execution-focused operations role embedded in a client-facing managed services environment. You will own the end-to-end processing, validation, and delivery of investment data for a portfolio of institutional clients, working closely with internal technology, analytics, and client coverage teams. The role is structured with a clear path to team leadership — as the function scales, high performers will take on direct management responsibility, mentor junior analysts, and shape how the team operates.
The role suits someone who combines deep investment operations knowledge with strong technical capability, a systematic approach to problem-solving, and the ambition to grow into a people and operations manager.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Own client data operations end-to-end: Receive, review, and standardize raw investment data across multiple formats; identify and resolve data quality issues before they impact downstream processing or client deliverables.
-
Execute investment performance workflows: Process and validate performance calculations against client-specific methodologies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables in line with agreed SLAs.
-
Build and document scalable data processes: Design structured, repeatable workflows for data management and entry that can be adopted across the team — with clear logic, exception-handling, and step-by-step documentation.
-
Architect AI-enabled operational solutions: Go beyond using AI tools — identify where intelligent automation can eliminate manual work, reduce error rates, or improve throughput; design and implement those solutions in collaboration with the technology team.
-
Drive process improvement with evidence: Diagnose root causes of recurring issues, propose changes with defined success criteria, and track outcomes.
-
Participate in client-facing activities: Contribute to client calls and status reviews with well-prepared, accurate operational updates; translate client requirements into actionable internal tasks.
-
Mentor and develop junior team members: As the team grows, provide day-to-day guidance to analysts — reviewing their work, helping them resolve blockers, and building their technical and operational capability.
-
Contribute to team structure and capacity planning: Identify gaps in team coverage, flag workload imbalances, and propose how to organize work across people — laying the groundwork for a formal management scope.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel:
Required Experience & Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in investment operations, data management, performance analytics, or a related financial services function.
-
Demonstrated ability to work with complex investment data (e.g., multi-asset holdings, private assets, performance attribution) across formats and systems.
-
Progress toward or completion of CFA, CAIA, or CIPM is a strong differentiator
-
Strong analytical and financial skills; able to identify logic errors in data pipelines and performance calculations independently.
-
Client-service orientation with a track record of meeting tight reporting deadlines across multiple workstreams.
-
Early indicators of leadership potential: experience coordinating work across team members, onboarding peers, or acting as a point of escalation within an operations function.
Technical Skills
Required:
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including complex formulas, dynamic arrays, and data modeling — and at least one of the following: SQL, Python, VBA, or equivalent scripting capability.
-
Demonstrated experience using AI tools in a professional context — including but not limited to tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar LLM-based platforms — for drafting, summarizing, data manipulation, or workflow automation.
Strongly Preferred:
-
Experience designing or architecting AI-enabled workflows — structuring prompts, building automation pipelines, or integrating AI tools into operational processes. This is a distinct and more specialized capability from day-to-day AI tool usage and will be evaluated separately.
-
Familiarity with data platforms, ETL tools, or proprietary investment systems.
-
Partnership or investment fund accounting experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred in one of the following fields (or equivalent practical experience):
-
Finance, Accounting, or Economics
-
Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science
-
Computer Science or Data Science
Demonstrated technical and analytical capability matters more than specific degree title.
Career Path
This role is explicitly designed to grow into a team lead and people management position. In the near term, you will deepen your operational and technical ownership. As the function scales, high performers will take on direct reports, lead hiring, and own delivery across a portfolio of client accounts. We are looking for someone who sees the individual contributor scope as a starting point, not a ceiling.
