School Psychologist - Position Overview
We are seeking a thoughtful and experienced School Psychologist to support the social, emotional, and developmental well-being of students within a child-centered learning environment for nursery through elementary. This role works in close partnership with educators, school leadership, and families to foster a safe, inclusive, and responsive school community.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in child development, neurodiversity, positive parenting, as well as a collaborative mindset and a commitment to proactive and empathetic relationship-based support.
Compensation and Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with an hour-long break daily
- Option to work from home after 2:00 pm on specific days
- 20 days of paid time off during the school year
- Monthly compensation: $20,000 to $30,000 MXN
- All lawful benefits included as well as full training program with certifications
Key Responsibilities
- Student Support & Development
- Conduct classroom observations to understand students’ developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Identify early indicators of learning, social, or emotional challenges and recommend appropriate supports
- Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with families and educators
- Promote social-emotional learning and self-regulation strategies within the classroom
Family Collaboration
- Partner with families to provide guidance on child development and behavior
- Lead meetings to share observations, progress, and recommended strategies
- Offer support during transitions or challenges and coordinate referrals and collaboration with external providers when needed
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work closely with teachers and school leadership to strengthen classroom practices through a developmental lens
- Provide training and coaching on topics such as neurodiversity, behavior guidance, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed practices
- Participate in team discussions to support student success
Assessment & Intervention
- Conduct formal and informal assessments in alignment with ethical and professional standards
- Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation
School Culture & Prevention
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture that prioritizes emotional safety and belonging
- Design and support preventative programs that build resilience, social skills, and self-awareness
- Lead parent workshops and spaces for connection between families
- Assist with crisis response and follow-up support when necessary

Qualifications
- Degree in Childhood Psychology, preferably with Master's in Childhood Development, Education, or Special Education ( Psicóloga Escolar , Psicopedagogía , Educación Especial , Psicóloga Infantil )
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children and parents in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of child development and current evidence-based practices
- Advanced English and Spanish ( Bilingüe )
- Experience in student-centered, constructivist or Montessori environments is a plus
