About the role
Candlelight is a series of "Fever Originals" classical music and jazz concerts by Fever designed to create an accessible, immersive atmosphere to experience works by composers such as Vivaldi, Chopin, and Beethoven, alongside contemporary repertoire.
Our venues span churches, libraries, mansions, and other historic landmarks. The series is currently in over 150 cities worldwide including Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Sydney, Singapore, Berlin, Lisbon, London, Paris, Toronto, Lyon, Manchester, Brussels, São Paulo, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, and continues to grow rapidly.
We are building a team of bar-raisers: people who take ownership, think rigorously, and care deeply about the quality of the musical experience we bring to audiences worldwide.
For this internship, we are looking for music curators with strong formal musical training, advanced technical musicianship, and the ability to read and the ability to read musical scores to shape live performance programs.
This is a paid internship.
Responsibilities
- Identify artists to play in the Candlelight Series across the Americas
- Assist in curating and maintaining a large number of music programs
- Work as part of a team, pitching and closing concerts for classical music and jazz artists
- Work with the Fever marketing team to make sure our new music programs make an impact in terms of ticket sales and music quality
- Identify and negotiate price for music arrangements
- Manage auditions to identify top performers
- Help to scale music programs to other cities through developing and sharing best practices (opportunity for travel)
About you
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program and able to work from our Mexico City office throughout the school year (full-time or part-time depending on academic commitments).
- Core requirements:
- Formal studies in classical music or equivalent conservatory-level training
- Strong command of music theory and harmony
- Fluency in reading sheet music
- Active proficiency on at least one musical instrument, with a strong understanding of performance practice
- Strong knowledge of the music industry and live performance culture
- English fluency (spoken and written) is essential
- Exceptional verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with and respond to analytics
- Strong propensity to take initiative and thrive on change
- Team spirit, excellent work ethic, and friendly and warm attitude!
- Nice to have
- Experience in music programming or curation
- Familiarity with programming music, digital audio workstations (e.g. Logic, Ableton), notation software (e.g. Sibelius, Finale, Dorico), and arranging skills
- Previous experience in the music or live performance industry
- A passion for music in multiple genres spanning from classical to pop, rock, jazz, and hip-hop

Our hiring process
- A 30 min video call with one of our Talent Acquisition Team to better understand your career plan, assess cultural fit, and answer any questions you may have
- A 60 min online test with three topics: logic, analytics, and written understanding
- A 30 min interview with your future manager to assess fit and capabilities
- A 45-60 min business case presentation (to be prepared in advance) to a small panel
