Engineering Manager; High Density Liquid Cooling;
- Manage product development projects in the R&D and Engineering Department.
- Be responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of a project, over cross functional groups, directed toward strategic business and other organizational objectives. The role also has a heavy operational element in carrying out component selections, thermodynamic designs, conceptual layouts etc.
- Focus on the development of In-Rack and In-Row deployment of Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) in both single phase and two phase (liquid) cooling.
Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:

- Lead the teams assigned to specific projects for In-Rack and In-Row deployment of Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) in both single phase and two phase (liquid) cooling.
- Develop reporting and tracking programs to assure the project is on target for schedule and cost.
- Identify key issues and drive decisions to ensure no deliverable or project schedule slip. Identify key risks and have a contingency plan.
- Communicate with other managers, upper management, or outside vendors and other plants, as required.
- Responsible that the project is following the NPDP, New Product Develop Process, and reporting progress to the NPDP leadership and project/program managers.
- Operational responsibility for the thermodynamic design and numerical calculations of specific liquid cooling designs.
- Manage the development of liquid cooling products for high profile and well-known global datacenter customers.
- Facilitate cross-functional planning and project execution following, design guidelines and principals of liquid cooling.
- Deliver a fast and customer focused response on “engineered to order complex” (ETO-C) projects, where a new solution is based on an existing and well proven platform.
- Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market leading innovation.
- To lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, collaborating with, Marketing, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customer’s needs.
- To approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).
- To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.
- To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under their responsibility.
Qualifications:
Required/ Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of previous experience in a management role.
- At least 10 years (total) of previous experience in an engineering role.
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
Additional / Preferred Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles are essential.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, physics, engineering and manufacturing processes.
- English – advanced level – written and spoken.
- A high level of motivation combined with leadership abilities is required.
- Knowledge of technical norms and standards, UL, ASHRAE, IEEE.
- Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible.
Physical & Environmental Requirements: - (To be used majorly for manufacturing jobs.)
Time Travel Needed:
- 20%
- Availability to travel on request between the engineering office in Apodaca, MX and the production facility in Santa Catarina, MX.
Ability to travel to company headquarters in Westerville, Ohio and High Density Liquid Cooling office in Redhill, UK.
