Job Summary:**
The Palletizer Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining automated palletizing equipment to efficiently stack products onto pallets according to specified patterns and quantities, ensuring product integrity and timely shipment preparation.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Operate automated palletizing machinery, including start-up, shut-down, and routine adjustments.
- Monitor palletizer performance, identify and troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions, and report major issues to maintenance personnel.
- Ensure correct product placement and stack patterns on pallets, adhering to quality control standards and customer specifications.
- Load empty pallets into the palletizer magazine and remove full pallets from the discharge area using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Apply stretch wrap to completed pallets for stability and protection during transport.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on palletizing equipment.
- Maintain accurate production records, including pallet counts, product codes, and any downtime.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other production tasks as needed, such as material handling or line support.
Job Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience operating automated machinery, particularly palletizers, in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
- Ability to operate a forklift or pallet jack safely and efficiently (certification preferred).
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment issues.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate pallet patterns and product quality.
- Ability to read and understand production orders and safety instructions.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as production demands require.
