Job Description
Aremex Capital Management Holding, S. de R.L. de C.V. is seeking an Associate Vice President (“AVP”) for our Accounting team.
The AVP will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, tax, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance activities and oversight of several entities. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting records and reconciliations, supporting local statutory and tax compliance, overseeing documentary evidence and regulatory filings, and coordinating closely with Corporate US to align local Mexico requirements with broader reporting and control expectations. This role has a strong operational accounting and regulatory compliance focus and is designed to support a complex multi-entity structure in Mexico.

Oversee end-to-end accounting activities, including monthly closing, statutory financial statement support, tax compliance, corporate governance matters, and partner distributions.

Oversee the integrity of accounting inputs, account reconciliations, and local accounting compliance for the Mexico entities.

Lead monthly and quarterly close activities for applicable entities, including the preparation and review of local financial information and supporting schedules.

Adjust the main trial balance for local accounting and tax purposes, including the incorporation of local GAAP accruals and the reversal of US GAAP accruals that are not applicable under local GAAP.

Review and validate VAT accounts, tax-related balances, and the correct application of foreign exchange rates.

Ensure timely compliance with SAT requirements, tax filings, official requests, and the maintenance of complete and accurate documentary support.

Manage the validity, custody, and operational continuity of the electronic signature (e.firma).

Monitor and manage the Tax Mailbox (Buzón Tributario), including invitations, requirements, electronic audits, and tax authority communications.

Control issued and received CFDI documentation, including status control, cancellations, complements, and traceability with accounting records, operations, and banking activity.

Perform and review monthly tax reconciliations between accounting records, CFDI data, and tax returns, including VAT, withholdings, payments, and reconciling differences.

Prepare, organize, and maintain supporting evidence files to support materiality, tax positions, accounting balances, and statutory compliance.

Coordinate with Corporate US on accounting bases, tax support, reporting inputs, and identified risks to ensure alignment between local Mexico requirements and global reporting expectations.

Identify investments in subsidiaries, associates, joint ventures, or other long-term investments and apply the corresponding accounting treatment.

Prepare and review equity method calculations and investment roll-forwards, including contributions, distributions, share of results, OCI, and other adjustments, where applicable.

Maintain Beneficial Ownership / Controlling Beneficiary files, including updates for corporate changes, ownership structures, powers, and governance changes, and respond to authority requests within required deadlines.

Support AML/CFT compliance obligations under LFPIORPI, including registration, identification procedures, notices, zero reports when required, document retention, and readiness for verification visits.

Manage corporate governance and Ministry of Economy compliance activities, including corporate books, minutes, partners/shareholders records, capital changes, powers of attorney, statutory amendments, and Public Registry of Commerce filings, when applicable.

Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, banks, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate compliance, reporting, and issue resolution.

Identify opportunities to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and improve efficiency and automation across accounting, tax, compliance, and reporting activities.

Support special projects and other ad hoc finance, accounting, tax, and compliance matters as needed.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
Master’s degree is desirable, but not required.
Certification:
Professional certification is desirable, but not required.
Experience Required:
3+ years of relevant experience in accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance is preferred, but not required.
Prior experience in Big 4, accounting/tax advisory firms, real estate companies, or investment fund environments is preferred.
Experience in Mexico tax and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
Experience with multi-entity structures, including S. de R.L. de C.V., trusts, GP entities, and management companies is desirable.
General Requirements:
Intermediate English proficiency.
Intermediate Excel skills.
ERP or accounting systems knowledge is desirable, but not required.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and deadline management.
Strong communication skills with corporate teams, external advisors, and local stakeholders.
Solid accounting and tax technical judgment.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multi-entity, compliance-driven environment.
