The Quality Assurance Team Leader is responsible for coordinating all quality control and assurance activities for the Oral Care manufacturing plant, spanning from raw materials and packaging inspections to sub-processes and finished goods. This role guarantees operational compliance with FDA guidelines, local laws, and Colgate’s global quality standards. Operating directly on the shop floor, the successful candidate will lead a team to enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), spearhead complex cross-functional failure investigations using root-cause analysis, and strategically partner with operations leaders and global technical groups.
Regulatory Compliance & FDA Alignment: Drive and support the implementation of corporate quality standards, ensuring all manufacturing practices comply with global expectations, legal standards of destination countries, and FDA regulations.
Failure Investigations & Root Cause: Lead comprehensive failure investigations on the production floor, collaborating with multiple areas to identify root causes, implement preventive actions, and resolve operational deviations.
Incoming Inspection & Laboratory Management: Oversee the incoming inspection process for packaging materials, manage the Oral Care packaging laboratory (including the AISAS minilab operation), and drive corrective or continuous improvement actions with packaging suppliers.
Statistical Process Control (SPC): Execute, review, and report on statistical process control metrics and industrial process capabilities ($C_p, C_{pk}$), leveraging data analysis and AI skills to optimize line performance and quality indicators.
Consumer Insights & Quality Master Plan: Analyze customer and consumer complaints to determine trends, while developing and monitoring the overarching Quality Master Plan for the Oral Care plant.
Team Leadership & System Auditing: Manage the human and material resources of the packaging laboratory, ensuring that the team performs floor verifications according to technical specifications and parameters loaded in Opera, SAP, and Skelta.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related scientific/technical field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Supervisor, Validation Engineer, or in similar high-compliance manufacturing operations.
Technical Mastery:
Advanced knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools (Minitab, SAP, Skelta).
Strong expertise in Quality Risk Management (QRM) frameworks (FMEA, Hazard Analysis, etc.).
Proven mastery of Problem-Solving Methodologies (RCA, 80/20, Fishbone) and Equipment/Process Validation.
Project management and laboratory resource administration.
Languages: Advanced English proficiency is mandatory (required for leading complex technical investigations and collaborating directly with global groups).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional influence, negotiation, and group-management capabilities to align cross-functional teams toward technical solutions under pressure.

Industry Background: Prior experience within the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry.
Regulatory Standards: Familiarity with Medical Devices guidelines (NOM-241) and Cosmetics manufacturing standards (NOM-259).
AI & Digitalization: Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) workflows or advanced data modeling to optimize quality trends and predictive analytics.
