The Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality Manager, Plant Managers, and hourly employees to maintain and improve business systems. The Quality Engineer may Supervise, Quality Technicians, Auditors, Documentation, Test, etc. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for plans, implement and coordinate applicable Corrective, Preventive and Technical controls of Processes and Products as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products.
- Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards.
- Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.
- Monitor and inform/communicate/apply standards created/maintained by external bodies and integrate within internal quality management systems.
- Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments.
- Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards.
- Liaison with quality management and standards bodies (e.g., ISO, TL, Government Departments, HSE, etc.)
- Liaison with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues)
- Assists in the identification of root cause and develop/implement effective corrections and preventive methods.
- Participates in Product and Process development teams as applicable. Actively participates in Cross Functional work teams.
- Assists In the development of Product / Process Quality and Inspection plans, to include the application of Statistical Techniques, for the detection and reduction of errors, and the monitoring of critical to Quality processes.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A four-year degree in Engineering or a related field of study plus a minimum
- 3 + experience on Quality Control & Assurance area.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required (read, write, and speak).
- Availability to work in night shift is required.
- Familiar with Assembly and Manufacturing processes, Engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure
- Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence.
- Proficiency in use of MS Office Software – advanced Excel skills required.
- Desirable experience using MRP or Enterprise systems in Manufacturing.
- Familiar with electrical schematic a plus
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies and related statistical tools and techniques
- Knowledge of formal Quality System standards such as the ISO 9000 series of requirements.
- Knowledge of Core Tools APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SCP & MSA
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- 3+ years of experience leading a team.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- ASQ Certification in Quality Engineering is preferred
