About the Job:

The Civil Design Engineering Leader will manage the civil design team. This role will oversee and coordinate the preparation of civil engineering design documents including AutoCAD & Civil 3D drawing packages, material quantity estimates, design reports and technical specifications, among others.

Responsibilities:

Direct, lead and coordinate the work for the civil design discipline providing guidance, mentorship and performance feedback to ensure quality deliverables.
Review the integration of technical activities and products related to design and engineering work in the office and on site.
Prepare detailed proposals and schedules, planning and participating in site investigations, completing geotechnical and/or civil engineering analysis and design, preparing technical specifications and bid packages, overseeing construction projects.
Maintain project documentation, including drawings, technical specifications and reports.
Coordinate technical work within the local team, several disciplines and groups.
Perform quality checks on designs.
Represent the project team and present all elements of the technical design to clients.
Communicate with other office leaders throughout the KP global group and help convey and facilitate the design requirements.

Requirements:

B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
More than 10 years of work experience. Experience in the mining industry is preferred.
Strong background in team leadership and people management.
Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other similar technical software.
Proven experience and ability for project/client management.
Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated capability to work cooperatively within multidisciplinary teams.
