Team Overview
The Data Science & Analytics team within Analytics Consulting designs and delivers advanced analytics solutions that help financial institutions, fintechs, retailers, and other credit-granting organizations improve risk management, customer acquisition, portfolio performance, collections effectiveness, and customer engagement. By combining credit bureau data, alternative data sources, advanced analytics, and industry expertise, the team transforms insights into consulting services and scalable solutions that generate measurable business value. The team plays an important role in advancing data-driven decision-making across the credit ecosystem and supporting TransUnion's growth strategy. This role reports to the Director, Data Science & Analytics.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
This role exists to develop and deliver analytics solutions that help clients make better risk, growth, and customer decisions. Through advanced modeling, data analysis, and consulting engagements, the role contributes to improved portfolio performance, operational efficiency, customer acquisition strategies, and business growth outcomes.
- Design and deliver analytics consulting engagements that help clients improve risk management, customer acquisition, portfolio optimization, collections performance, and customer engagement outcomes.
- Develop actionable insights and analytical solutions using credit bureau data, alternative data, portfolio information, and market intelligence to support data-driven business decisions.
- Partner with commercial, product, technology, and client stakeholders to define business objectives, scope analytical initiatives, and align deliverables with measurable client outcomes.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, segmentation, benchmarking, performance monitoring, and portfolio diagnostics to identify opportunities and quantify business impact.
- Support the development, validation, implementation, and monitoring of analytical models, scores, attributes, and decision strategies that improve predictive performance while maintaining governance standards and reducing risk.
- Communicate findings and recommendations through executive presentations, dashboards, reports, and business cases that support informed decision-making across technical and business audiences.
- Assess data quality, availability, and readiness to determine the feasibility, effectiveness, and potential value of analytics initiatives and consulting engagements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to operationalize analytics solutions and support scalable deployment across clients, industries, and markets.
- Support client workshops, identify opportunities for expanded analytical engagements, and contribute to business growth through increased solution adoption.
Contribute reusable analytical assets, methodologies, case studies, and best practices that improve delivery efficiency and accelerate client value.

Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing analytical, statistical, or machine learning models within financial services, credit risk, analytics consulting, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of predictive modeling techniques, model development processes, and model performance evaluation methodologies.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities in a collaborative business environment.
- Hands-on experience using Python and/or R for analytics, statistical modeling, and solution development.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong knowledge of statistics, probability, predictive analytics, and quantitative methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL (Structured Query Language) for querying, analyzing, and managing large datasets.
- Understanding of credit risk analytics, portfolio management concepts, and performance measurement techniques.
- Experience working with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) , Microsoft Azure , Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , Databricks, or Dataiku.
- Experience using data visualization and business intelligence tools to communicate insights and support decision-making.
