The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on automated systems and robotic equipment for Symbotic’s automated and robotic systems at operations site This role supports safe and reliable operations while developing technical expertise in automation, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role is ideal for hands-on technical talent with experience in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electrical controls, PLC troubleshooting, robotics, conveyors, and automated material-handling environments. The ideal candidate has worked in high-volume manufacturing, logistics, automotive, aerospace, food processing, distribution, fulfillment, or advanced manufacturing operations.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on automated storage and retrieval systems, robotic vehicles, conveyors, lifts, sensors, motors, and related equipment.
Inspect, adjust, and replace wear components, sensors, belts, rollers, motors, and other equipment components.
Safely operate automation systems to support troubleshooting, recovery, validation, and robotic vehicle retrieval activities.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, repairs, and parts usage within the CMMS system.
Follow all company, customer, and site safety requirements, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and work-at-height procedures.
Technical high school diploma, TSU, technical certification, engineering studies in progress, or equivalent training in mechatronics, electronics, industrial maintenance, automation, control systems, robotics, electrical, mechanical, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, automation, robotics, manufacturing equipment, conveyors, logistics automation, automotive, aerospace, or related technical environment.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, sensors, VFDs, servo motors, pneumatics, HMIs, CMMS documentation, and electro-mechanical repair strongly preferred.
Experience in fast-paced production environments with a strong focus on safety, uptime, quality, teamwork, and root-cause troubleshooting.
Ability to interpret dashboards, queue logic, routing paths, and real-time KPIs to identify potential system slowdowns or reliability concerns.
Understanding robotic fleet behavior, battery logic, path optimization, and inter-vehicle coordination is preferred.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, reliability, quality work, and consistent attendance while meeting required productivity expectations.
The employee frequently needs to work at heights of up to 45 feet and in confined spaces as narrow as 24 inches. This includes tasks that require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
El Técnico de Mantenimiento I es responsable de realizar mantenimiento preventivo, solución básica de problemas, inspecciones y reparaciones en sistemas automatizados y equipos robóticos para los sistemas automatizados y robóticos de Symbotic en el sitio de operaciones. Este puesto apoya operaciones seguras y confiables mientras desarrolla experiencia técnica en sistemas de automatización, eléctricos y mecánicos. Esta posición es ideal para talento técnico práctico con experiencia en mantenimiento industrial, mecatrónica, controles eléctricos, solución de problemas de PLC, robótica, transportadores y entornos automatizados de manejo de materiales. El candidato ideal ha trabajado en manufactura de alto volumen, logística, automotriz, aeroespacial, procesamiento de alimentos, distribución, centros de cumplimiento o entornos de manufactura avanzada.
Realizar inspecciones de rutina, mantenimiento preventivo y reparaciones básicas en sistemas automatizados de almacenamiento y recuperación, vehículos robóticos, transportadores, elevadores, sensores, motores y equipos relacionados.
Inspeccionar, ajustar y reemplazar componentes de desgaste, sensores, bandas, rodillos, motores y otros componentes del equipo.
Cumplir con todos los requisitos de seguridad de la empresa, del cliente y del sitio, incluyendo procedimientos de bloqueo y etiquetado (LOTO), EPP y trabajo en alturas.
Diploma de preparatoria técnica, TSU, certificación técnica, estudios de ingeniería en curso o capacitación equivalente en mecatrónica, electrónica, mantenimiento industrial, automatización, sistemas de control, robótica, electricidad, mecánica o un área relacionada, de preferencia.
Mínimo 1 año de experiencia práctica en mantenimiento industrial, automatización, robótica, equipos de manufactura, transportadores, automatización logística, industria automotriz, aeroespacial o entornos técnicos relacionados.
Se prefiere ampliamente experiencia en solución de problemas de PLC, diagnósticos eléctricos, sensores, VFD, servomotores, neumática, HMI, documentación en CMMS y reparación electromecánica.
Experiencia en entornos de producción de ritmo acelerado con un fuerte enfoque en seguridad, tiempo de actividad, calidad, trabajo en equipo y análisis de causa raíz.
Demuestra un fuerte compromiso con la seguridad, la confiabilidad, la calidad del trabajo y la asistencia constante, cumpliendo con las expectativas de productividad requeridas.
