Job Description:
We are looking for a Digital Engineering professional to own and evolve the digital tools that support tolerance analysis across the MCAD environment.
This role focuses on digital tool ownership, business requirements, user adoption, continuous improvement, and integration with engineering workflows. The role requires a strong mechanical engineering background, practical understanding of tolerance analysis, and the capability to evolve into the functional owner and reference point for the digital tools, workflows, and business processes supported by the tolerance analysis solution suite.
You will work closely with global engineering, quality, manufacturing, industrialization, and digital teams to understand business needs, identify gaps, and translate them into practical tool improvements. You will also collaborate with vendors and internal application teams to support configuration, deployment, integration, and adoption.
This is an individual contributor role with strong ownership, business exposure, and accountability for improving how tolerance analysis digital tools are used across Digital Engineering.
Key responsibilities
-
Own the tolerance analysis digital tool suite within the MCAD environment.
-
Act as the main point of contact for tool capabilities, gaps, usage, and improvement needs.
-
Support the tool roadmap creation based on business priorities, user feedback, and technical constraints, including license availability monitoring and management.
-
Work with internal teams and vendors to improve tool configuration, usability, integration, and performance.
-
Ensure the tools support engineering workflows in a practical, scalable, and reliable way.
- Business requirements and adoption
-
Partner with the Product Owner and stakeholders from engineering, quality, manufacturing, and industrialization teams to understand business needs.
-
Translate user pain points into clear requirements, priorities, and action plans.
-
Support gap analysis between current tool capabilities and business expectations.
-
Lead demos, workshops, user feedback sessions, and adoption activities.
-
Promote consistent and effective use of tolerance analysis tools across the business.
- Application lifecycle and support
-
Support tool evaluation, validation, deployment, upgrades, and release testing.
-
Coordinate user acceptance testing and document business requirements.
-
Maintain tool documentation, usage guidelines, known limitations, and best practices.
-
Track adoption, issues, improvement requests, and delivered value.
-
Define support models, escalation paths, and continuous improvement actions.
- Tolerance analysis and engineering enablement
-
Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to understand tolerance analysis use cases.
-
Support users in applying tools for 1D stack-up, 2D or 3D tolerance analysis, GD&T, and statistical variation analysis.
-
Develop into the functional reference for how tolerance analysis tools support business needs.
-
Coach users on tool usage, workflows, and practical application of standards.
-
Stay current with market tools, engineering practices, and Digital Engineering trends.
- Digital Engineering integration
-
Support integration with MCAD, PDM, MBD, PLM, and Digital Thread processes.
-
Help define how tolerance analysis data is created, managed, reused, and connected.
-
Work with architecture, platform, and application teams to improve end-to-end digital continuity.
-
Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and better data usage.
