GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The SQA Engineer ensures that supplier control processes comply with BRP requirements regarding product availability and rigorous quality standards, delivering high-quality material, optimizing costs, and preventing disruptions in manufacturing activities through:
Influencing suppliers to drive sustainable quality controls
Following continuous improvement strategies
Managing non-conforming material to achieve efficient actions by integrating available information
Skillfully translating fragmented information into structured analysis and actions
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering and Business Administration preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Supplier Quality or 3 years in a related field (supply chain preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Certifications
Effective problem analysis and resolution
Negotiation skills and adaptability to supplier communication structures
High level of rigor and structured work approach
Availability to travel (domestic and international)
Ability to maintain oral and written communication in English and Spanish
General Quality Knowledge
Strong experience in problem-solving methodologies (root cause analysis)
Experience in Core Tools (APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, GD&T, PPAP)
Experience in quality management system audits
Experience handling non-conforming material (NCM)
Experience in manufacturing processes (stamping, plastic injection, electronics, etc.)
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Quality and Supplier Issue Management
Identify, document, and resolve supplier-related quality issues
Immediately notify suppliers upon detection of non-conforming material
Create NCRs and follow up to closure with firm actions
Ensure supplier containment and sustainable corrective actions
Promote, escalate, and lead discussions that ensure supplier performance (KPI monitoring, risk identification, recurring issues)
Drive firm actions with suppliers to protect, reinforce, and continuously improve BRP’s operational performance
Supplier Support and Development
Validate and improve suppliers through periodic reviews, audits, and on-site visits, ensuring quality compliance from PFMEA to implemented controls
Maintain continuous communication with suppliers to ensure product compliance
Non-Conforming Material Control (Quarantine and Rework)
Facilitate containment, disposition, traceability, and rework of non-conforming material
Ensure the availability of defect-free material on time
Communicate updates on material correction and clean point to stakeholders
New Product Introduction Management (PPAP)
Validate and release PPAP packages according to design and quality specifications
Ensure compliance and follow-up according to each project’s launch schedule
Ensure proper management during engineering change introductions (ECN)
Other Responsibilities
Comply with all company policies, procedures, internal work regulations, and code of ethics
Comply with company safety rules
Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the department supervisor
