Responsibilities
A Typical Day Might Include:
.
.
The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.
-
Lead the design and review of HVAC systems for commercial facilities (chilled water, VRF/VRV, DX systems, hydronic systems, air distribution, ventilation, and exhaust).
-
Perform load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and piping design in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
-
Prepare and/or review HVAC calculations, specifications, drawings, and schedules.
-
Ensure integration of HVAC systems with architectural, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems (BMS).
-
Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.
-
Review and comment on shop drawings, RFIs, and material submittals.
-
Develops engineering and capital cost estimates.
-
Ensure all designs comply with local building codes and relevant standards (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, applicable energy codes).
-
May supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.

Meets with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.

Develops engineering concepts and presentations.

Coordinates work with other disciplines.
-
Keeps current on new design methods and ideas.

Qualifications

Qualifications Youll Need on Day One:

Bachelor´s Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
-
TItulo and Cédula are mandatory
-
Eight to ten (8 - 10) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required.

Experience with design of HVAC systems in commercial facilities building projects
-
Prior consulting experience in the commercial industry such as Hospitals, Airports, Corporate buildings, Schools, etc.
-
Load calculation software (e.g., HAP, Trace, or equivalent)
-
Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD
-
Prior Revit experience
