POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer III is responsible for providing investigation and root cause analysis of product failures. Works closely with various Engineering functions (Reliability, Design, Manufacturing, etc) in a closed-loop, corrective-action process to improve product quality and reliability performance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for working with cross-functional groups to coordinate strategies for meeting customer’s requirements in all quality areas that also serve AE’s business needs.
- Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, corrective and preventive action due customer (internal-external) complaints.
- Define, design, develop and Implement SPC tools for assembly tools, manufacturing, and test fixtures.
- Establish, implement, and maintain the quality management system.
- Interact with Engineering and Operations to ensure an appropriate transfer of new products, PPAP.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing activities of receiving / outgoing quality functions.
- Participates in Design Reviews to ensure compliance with reliability standards and customer requirements.
- Review Engineering Change Requests for customer approval requirements and submission.
- Perform weekly, monthly trend analysis and coordinate corrective actions with involved areas.
- Defines SPC to manufacturing processes and monitor weekly and monthly performance, implement countermeasure.
- Interact constantly with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Materials, Support Areas to ensure robust processes using PPAP, SPC and LEAN tools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient knowledge and troubleshooting skills in electronic circuits, components, PCBs, and manufacturing processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiar with diagnostic equipment (SEM, EDX, X-ray analysis, scopes, etc), statistical yield analysis, physical failure, and root-cause analysis
- Measurable and extensive experience with influencing and negotiating in complex situations.
- Able to define process criteria to meet product and process requirements.
- Excellent computer skills (Statistical Software, Office –Excel-,etc)
- Strong Negotiation and Communication skills
- Strong Leader and fearless change agent
- Requires minimum 3-4 year degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Expert in determining root cause of failures, correlating to historical data, and driving corrective action
Essential
- Experience in Electronics Industry Preferable
- Experience in Automotive Industry and/or Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Preferable
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor degree (Manufacturing, Electronic Engineering)
- Six Sigma Certification preferable
· Possesses a thorough knowledge of products and applications · Drives improvements in corporate functional capabilities
- Typically requires a minimum of 7 years engineering experience
