The Automation Maintenance Technician II will support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of Symbotic’s automated and robotic systems at operations site. This role is ideal for hands-on technical talent with experience in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electrical controls, PLC troubleshooting, robotics, conveyors, and automated material-handling environments. The ideal candidate has worked in high-volume manufacturing, logistics, automotive, aerospace, food processing, distribution, fulfillment, or advanced manufacturing operations.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), robotic vehicles, lifts, conveyors, sensors, motors, robotic arms, and related electro-mechanical equipment.
Diagnose equipment downtime using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, HMI interfaces, diagnostic software, and test equipment.
Perform preventive, corrective, mechanical, and electrical maintenance on automation systems, robotics, and the autonomous bot fleet.
Troubleshoot system issues using PLC diagnostics, multimeters, electrical testing devices, and advanced diagnostic tools.
Inspect, calibrate, repair, and replace components on robotic vehicles, Automated Adapters, Vertical Lifts, robotic arms, and automation equipment.
Maintain detailed CMMS documentation, including inspections, repairs, root cause findings, parts usage, and corrective actions.
Safely operate automation systems to support troubleshooting, recovery, validation, and robotic vehicle retrieval activities, including work in restrictive environments.
Perform minor fabrication and installation activities, including mounting hardware, aligning sensors, installing supports, and modifying equipment as needed.
Maintain compliance with all company, customer, and site safety requirements, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), fall protection, PPE, and work-at-height procedures.
Associate degree or equivalent certification/experience in electronics, automation, automotive, mechatronics, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting ability, including interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic data.
Proficiency in performing preventive inspection tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks, and electrical measurements.
The employee frequently needs to work at heights of up to 45 feet and in confined spaces as narrow as 24 inches. This includes tasks that require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Inspeccionar, diagnosticar, reparar y mantener sistemas automatizados de almacenamiento y recuperación (AS/RS), vehículos robóticos, elevadores, transportadores, sensores, motores, brazos robóticos y equipos electromecánicos relacionados.
