The Work
(What you’ll be doing & Your Impact)
- Own end-to-end feature development across frontend and backend using JavaScript.
- Build and refine user-facing workflows, collaborating closely with product stakeholders to shape UX and functional decisions, not just implement tickets.
- Develop backend services that power AI-assisted, agent-based systems, enabling the platform to pull, enrich, and generate information related to insurance and patient data.
- Work hands-on in an AWS-based environment, contributing to architecture decisions, scalability, and reliability.
- Design and integrate with third-party APIs and services, ensuring secure and maintainable data flows.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, either as a solo contributor on key initiatives or as part of a small, senior-leaning team (2–3 engineers).
- Take strong ownership of quality, performance, and security, especially when working with sensitive healthcare data.
- Contribute to technical direction and standards, acting as a senior voice without formal people-management expectations.
Needed Expertise
(What you need to succeed in the role)
- Strong, hands-on experience with JavaScript across frontend and backend in production systems.
- Proven ability to work across the full stack, including modern frontend frameworks and backend services/APIs.
- Experience building and shipping product-centric features, with a clear understanding of how technical decisions impact users.
- Practical experience using AI in real products (not research-only). Understanding how AI systems are integrated into workflows. Experience consuming AI outputs, handling edge cases, and designing for reliability and trust.
- Comfort working in AWS environments, including deploying, maintaining, and scaling services.
- Strong ownership mindset: able to take ambiguous problems, define solutions, and drive them to completion.
- Experience thriving in early-stage or fast-moving startup environments.
Not Required But Nice To Have Expertise

- Prior exposure to healthcare systems, especially HIPAA-regulated environments.
- Experience with security-minded development, particularly around sensitive data.
- Background integrating third-party APIs, payments, or healthcare-related services.
