Position Overview:
We are seeking an AI‑Powered Automation Engineer to drive next‑generation automation capabilities using modern test automation frameworks, AI-assisted development tools, and in‑sprint automation practices. This role is critical to accelerating delivery, improving quality, and modernizing our automation strategy across cloud-native, API-driven, and microservices-based applications.
The ideal candidate will be strong in framework design, API automation, AI-enabled productivity tooling, and automation integration into CI/CD pipelines, regardless of the specific automation toolset (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebdriverIO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks (e.g Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebdriverIO).
- Leverage AI and MCP-based tools (Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI assistants) to accelerate automation development, debugging, and test optimization.
- Implement and maintain in-sprint automation, working directly with developers and product teams to automate test cases within the same sprint.
- Develop API automation for microservices, REST APIs and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS).
- Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions; implement quality gates and automated smoke/regression tests.
- Testing the full end‑to‑end behavior of AWS components to ensure all events, triggers, data flows, and integrations work as expected.
- Apply modern automation practices such as contract testing, component testing, visual diff testing, and accessibility scans.
- Participate in story grooming and design reviews to ensure testability and shift-left quality.
- Produce clear test documentation, automation architecture diagrams, dashboards, and reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automation engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript preferred).
- Demonstrated experience using AI-powered development tools, MCP-based integrations, and intelligent test assistance platforms.
- Deep understanding of in-sprint automation and Agile delivery practices.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript, Python, or Java.
- Experience automating microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
- CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience testing distributed systems, queues, events, and serverless functions.
