Team Overview
The Research and Consulting team delivers data-driven market intelligence and strategic insights that help TransUnion leaders and external clients better understand consumer credit trends, lending market dynamics, and emerging business opportunities. By combining expertise in analytics, economics, statistics, and industry research, the team transforms complex data into actionable recommendations that support business growth, informed decision-making, and market leadership. This role reports to the Senior Director, Research and Consulting and contributes to the development of meaningful insights that influence business strategy and client success.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
This role exists to generate research-driven insights and strategic recommendations that help clients and internal stakeholders make informed decisions related to market opportunities, lending performance, customer trends, and business growth. Through analytics, consulting, and thought leadership, the role supports stronger business outcomes, market understanding, and competitive positioning.
- Analyze consumer credit data, market trends, and lending activity to identify opportunities that support client growth, portfolio performance, and strategic decision-making.
- Design and execute research and analytics projects that provide insights into consumer behavior, market conditions, and financial services performance.
- Develop analytical frameworks and translate complex statistical findings into actionable business recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Deliver market intelligence, research findings, and business insights that support executive decision-making for TransUnion and external clients.
- Partner with sales, business development, and client teams to help organizations address market challenges, identify growth opportunities, and improve business outcomes.
- Lead consulting engagements and research initiatives while ensuring high-quality deliverables, analytical rigor, and client-focused recommendations.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively to support timely delivery of business-critical insights and research outputs.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations in English and Spanish through presentations, reports, and stakeholder discussions.
- Collaborate with data scientists, statisticians, modelers, and industry experts to develop innovative approaches to market analysis and business intelligence.
Contribute reusable research methodologies, market frameworks, and analytical assets that improve delivery efficiency and increase the value provided to clients.

Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline that supports advanced analytical and research work.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking, consumer lending, financial services, market analytics, consulting, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of consumer credit data, financial markets, and lending industry dynamics, with the ability to translate analytical findings into business recommendations.
- Experience leading analytical or consulting projects, including stakeholder management, executive communications, and presentation of findings to diverse audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish, including the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R for statistical analysis, modeling, and research applications.
- Advanced SQL ( Structured Query Language ) skills for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of statistical methodologies, quantitative research techniques, and data analytics practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting, and executive-level presentations.
- Experience working with large datasets and transforming complex information into actionable business insights.
