Sales Development Representative, Fire and Life Safety Full Time - Independent Contractor, Remote
Redwood City Alarms, Inc. is a Bay Area fire alarm and life safety systems company serving commercial and multi-family residential clients across San Francisco, San Mateo County, and Santa Clara County. We design, install, inspect, and service fire alarm systems for property owners, building managers, and general contractors throughout the region. We are a tight-knit team that takes pride in doing things right, and we are growing.
We are looking for a driven and personable Sales Development Representative to be the first voice prospects hear from Redwood City Alarms. You will reach out to property managers, building owners, general contractors, facility directors, and developers to qualify interest and set appointments for our leadership team.
You will work a daily lead list generated by our automated research system. Every prospect has been pre-identified based on a specific trigger: a recent fire alarm dispatch, an open code violation, or a new construction project. You are not calling blindly. You have a reason to call and a story to tell. Some leads will have been pre-warmed by email. Others you will call first. Either way, the research is done for you.
What you will do
- Make outbound calls to pre-identified prospects across the Bay Area using our VoIP phone system (provided by RCA)
- Qualify leads and book site visits or consultations
- Follow up consistently with warm leads and build rapport over time
- Maintain accurate records of all outreach activity and prospect status in our CRM
- Meet weekly and monthly targets for calls, conversations, and qualified appointments generated
What we are looking for
- Two or more years of outbound sales, cold calling, or business development experience
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and move a conversation toward a clear next step
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills suitable for professional calls with US-based clients
- Experience in construction, trades, property services, or life safety is a plus but not required
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently without daily supervision
- Organized and disciplined about tracking activity and following up consistently
- Familiarity with CRM tools preferred
Technical requirements
You will need your own reliable computer, a quality headset, and a stable high-speed internet connection. VoIP phone service for US calls is provided by Redwood City Alarms at no cost to you.
Compensation
Base: $700 USD per month (independent contractor). Bonus: $25 USD per qualified appointment booked. There is no ceiling on the bonus. A consistent performer booking 2 to 3 qualified appointments per day can expect to earn meaningfully above the base.
