SECTION I: GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Ensure compliance with established objectives through monitoring activities within EHS work plans and programs, in accordance with the policies, standards, and procedures established by the plant, supervising the execution of the technical and administrative processes that make up each area in order to guarantee legal compliance and risk elimination.
SECTION II: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Environmental Engineering, Chemical-Biologist Engineering, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of experience working in EHS.
Bilingual: English–Spanish.
Experience implementing and/or managing ISO 45001.
Proficient in HSE management and monitoring software.
SECTION III: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS
Excellent attitude, teamwork skills, and strong communication at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of environmental and occupational health and safety legislation.
Experience managing permits and regulatory processes with government agencies (JMAS, PROFEPA, SEMARNAT, SDUE, CIVIL PROTECTION, SEGOB, etc.).
Proficiency in ENABLON.
MS Office skills.
Google tools (Sites, Drive, Forms, etc.).
Leadership and proactive mindset.
SECTION IV: MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure compliance with all plant health, environmental, and safety programs.
Ensure that internal management and activities related to the company’s waste management processes (hazardous waste, special handling waste, biological-infectious waste, water discharge, etc.) comply with the criteria established by applicable laws and regulations from relevant government agencies (JMAS, PROFEPA, SDUE, CIVIL PROTECTION, etc.).
Ensure chemical materials are stored in appropriate containers, properly labeled, and have updated Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Supervise HSE technicians to perform periodic visual inspections of plant facilities and structural elements.
Verify compliance with and adherence to EHS programs implemented within the company.
Collect, document, and maintain available relevant information from different departmental areas such as risk management, waste management (air, soil, water, etc.), audits, corporate reporting, and others.
Serve as the person in charge of the Health and Safety Committee.
Ensure the implementation of preventive safety programs, monitor results, and prepare informational reports.
Participate in and ensure the closure of corrective actions arising from workplace risk assessment audits, Health and Safety Committee audits, among others.
Interact with government inspectors and representatives from SEMARNAT, JMAS, STPS, PROFEPA, SDUE, CIVIL PROTECTION, etc., attending inspections and following up until the closure of any administrative actions.
Conduct and coordinate external and internal EHS audits as required.
Evaluate the entry of chemical materials into BRP México by verifying the availability of Safety Data Sheets and maintaining control of such documentation.
Provide technical leadership and functional guidance to personnel to ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, and environmental requirements.
Participate in and ensure that the safety risk analysis and assessment program is carried out in accordance with established procedures, promoting risk prevention.
Monitor, oversee, and ensure the validity of the plant’s environmental and operational permits and licenses.
Follow up on the annual EHS training program, ensuring timely and proper completion.
Perform additional activities assigned by management to support plant operations.
Identify and report any quality or compliance issues and support corrective actions.
Ensure that investigations of work-related injuries are conducted in accordance with procedures, demonstrating leadership in implementing resulting actions.
Comply with safety rules determined according to the role.
Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements for the workplace.
Manage the assigned budget according to the area and responsibilities.
