The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of mission-critical data center projects, ensuring client objectives are achieved through effective project execution, governance, and stakeholder management. The role will involve interfacing with clients, design teams, contractors, commissioning specialists, and other consultants throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will lead the planning, organization, scheduling, direction, and control of complex data center construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include managing project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, contractors, vendors, and consultants, while driving project performance and mitigating risks.
This professional will oversee construction progress, validate work-in-place, review and approve capital expenditure requests, assess contractor estimates, and support critical decision-making processes throughout design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases. Particular emphasis will be placed on ensuring mission-critical systems, including electrical, mechanical, and life safety infrastructure, are delivered in accordance with operational and reliability requirements.
Skills & Responsibilities

Lead and facilitate client, contractor, consultant, and project governance meetings throughout the project lifecycle.

Act as the primary point of contact for local stakeholders while coordinating with regional and global client teams.

Manage project risks, maintain risk registers, and facilitate risk workshops to proactively identify and mitigate threats to project success.

Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and contingencies while ensuring financial control and transparency.

Prepare and present executive-level reports, dashboards, and project updates.

Oversee construction activities and quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications and mission-critical standards.

Coordinate and manage design reviews, value engineering initiatives, and constructability assessments.

Support engineering and commercial decision-making during design development and construction execution.

Review change orders, variation requests, contractor claims, and payment applications.

Advocate on behalf of the client during negotiations, disputes, and contract administration matters.

Monitor critical path activities and key milestones to ensure schedule adherence and successful project delivery.

Lead procurement tracking and ensure long-lead equipment, including electrical and mechanical infrastructure, aligns with project schedules.

Coordinate commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and startup activities across all critical systems.

Ensure operational readiness and successful transition from construction through commissioning to final handover.

Manage closeout activities, including warranties, as-built documentation, training, and turnover packages.

Foster strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.

Demonstrate a detail-oriented and proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues before they impact delivery.

Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, reliability, and operational excellence across all project phases.

Lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project resources to meet client expectations and business objectives.

Drive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance across construction activities.

Demonstrate leadership, accountability, and the ability to motivate high-performing teams in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Proven track record delivering large-scale data center projects from design through commissioning and client handover.

Advanced proficiency in project reporting, financial management, scheduling, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
Requisitos
Education & Experience
-
Minimum of 10 years of experience managing large-scale construction projects.
-
Proven experience delivering mission-critical facilities such as data centers, digital infrastructure, hyperscale campuses, colocation facilities, or other critical environment projects.

Strong understanding of data center MEP systems, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, cooling infrastructure, and BMS/EPMS systems.
-
Experience managing commissioning and integrated systems testing activities.
-
Experience with phased handovers and operational readiness programs.
-
Experience in LEED, sustainable building practices, or energy-efficient infrastructure is a plus.
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
-
PMP, PMI, CCM, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
-
Fluent in English and Spanish with the ability to lead executive meetings, client presentations, reporting, and written communications.

Knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and construction management platforms.

Experience working with BIM, AutoCAD, and digital construction technologies.
