The Business Development Group (BDG) Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management of a Guadalajara, Mexico based sales team dedicated to the development of accounts across North America. The Team Leader will organize and lead their team in a way to ensure that all accounts have adequate coverage and provide the level of support expected by the Business Development Group. The Team Leader will champion for his/her team to utilize sound business and quality principles that support TTI’s reputation and mission statement. This individual is responsible for providing direct guidance and support based upon his/her own sales experiences to ensure growth in key areas such as sales, gross profit, and active numbers of customers within a defined account portfolio.
What our BDG Team Lead do:
Supervises a group of sales individuals, who are aligned in a team concept, to support the objectives of the organization (sales, gross profit, active customers, sales ppm and on-time delivery). Ensures the team is handling customer and stakeholder inquiries in a timely manner and follow ups are proactively being pursued by their team members.
Coaches and develops the account team by participating in the interviewing and hiring of qualified people, providing effective training, utilizing valuable communication and motivational techniques, providing ongoing performance management, and rewarding individuals for higher levels of performance.
Ensures that customers have been properly qualified by team members and that appropriate documentation has been captured that accurately defines the opportunity associated with each account. In turn, makes recommendations to BDG Director as to what TTI resource is appropriate to be assigned based upon defined DSAM.
Initiate communication and collaborate with branch and regional colleagues to work on significant quotation opportunities and strategies in an effort to improve chances for TTI winning the business. Proactively escalates any customer issues that could negatively affect TTI’s business, relationship, or image with the customer.
Analyzes assigned area of responsibility giving focus and direction to the team on profitability and pricing strategies based upon competitive, market, and customer dynamics. Ensures opportunities are qualified and escalated to make sound pricing decisions based upon the unique set of circumstances and known facts. The Team Lead will need to effectively utilize TTI systems, local resources, market data, and reporting to retrieve information.
Organizes and performs, on a weekly basis, quotation opportunity reviews with team members to identify best opportunities and ensure that appropriate priority is assigned. Helps ensure that opportunities have been properly qualified. Escalates opportunities to BDG Director and branch stakeholders to ensure alignment.
What we look for:
- Requires a Highschool Diploma or Bachelor degree in Business related preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years of demonstrated successful sales experience as BDG account representative.
- Demonstrates and promotes TTI culture to instill company loyalty and continuity.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills which requires creative thinking.
- Documented success building accounts organically.
- Past sales performance demonstrating ability to sell full TTI line card.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel.
- High energy, strong work ethic, and positive attitude dedicated to achieving branch objectives.
- Organized with good time management skills including multi-tasking and ability to reprioritize at a moments notice.
- Good working relationship with corporate Product Marketing teams.
- Documented quality record in both on-time percentage and sales errors.
- Makes intelligent pricing decisions based upon situational analysis.
- Strong product, system, and operational knowledge.
- Strong prospecting, probing, and qualification skills to maximize ROI.
- Interacts effectively with department managers, individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.
