We are looking for a Lead Automation Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will drive the automation testing strategy and guide a team of engineers toward delivering high-quality solutions. You will play a key part in shaping testing practices and ensuring seamless integration with modern development workflows.
Responsibilities

Define the overall test strategy across automation activities

Establish tool configuration and setup to support automation initiatives

Enhance the existing Katalon Studio framework to expand its capabilities
-
Add detailed test cases covering key functional areas and scenarios
-
Propose efficient solutions for testing challenges and process improvements

Execute test cases and monitor their outcomes across cycles
-
Generate user-friendly test reports for stakeholder visibility
-
Integrate Katalon automation reports with Polarion for centralized tracking

Validate custom keywords used within automation frameworks
-
Implement the setup required for smooth automation operations
-
Establish clear test processes for the team to follow consistently

Define roles and responsibilities within the automation team

Train team members on automation frameworks and best practices
-
Coach and support the team throughout the development lifecycle

Facilitate the transition of automation work and knowledge to the broader team
Requirements
-
At least 5 years of professional relevant experience in automation engineering

Minimum of 1 year of experience in people management or team leadership, overseeing a team of 5 or more FTEs

Experience in automation testing integrated with DevOps pipelines
-
Hands-on implementation of automation using Katalon Studio and Appium
-
Practical experience with unit testing and UX testing activities

Working knowledge of TDD and BDD frameworks for structured test development

Background in working within fast-paced Agile environments
-
Extensive knowledge of Katalon, Bitbucket, GitLab, TeamCity, and Source Tree
-
Proven ability to plan and coordinate test automation activities

Skill in creating and communicating the test strategy to the automation team

Ability to ensure the team consistently follows standard automation processes
-
Fluent English communication skills at a B2 level or higher, both written and verbal
Nice to have

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment

Familiarity with Atlassian Jira for tracking test activities and defects

Experience with GUI testing across different platforms and applications

Working knowledge of Postman for API testing and validation

Background in web service and API test automation
