Equipment Engineering Manager

About the Position
We are looking for an experienced Equipment Engineering Manager to lead the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment in our optical fiber cable production facility.
This position is responsible for managing the complete equipment lifecycle, improving equipment reliability, leading automation projects, and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete lifecycle of manufacturing equipment, including procurement support, installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades, and disposal.
- Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs.
- Lead troubleshooting activities and root cause analysis for critical equipment failures.
- Improve equipment reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and supplier relationships.
- Lead automation improvement projects using Siemens PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and other industrial control technologies.
- Support new production line installation, equipment selection, and plant layout projects.
- Develop and maintain equipment documentation, SOPs, and maintenance records.
- Supervise and develop a team of maintenance engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, Quality, and other departments to achieve operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance through MES/SCADA systems and prepare KPI reports including MTBF, MTTR, and OEE.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance or manufacturing engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing maintenance or engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of:
- Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
- Servo Drives
- Industrial automation systems
- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- TPM methodologies
- Experience using CAD software for electrical schematics and equipment drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical machining processes and manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with MES/SCADA systems and maintenance KPIs.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience in optical fiber, cable, electronics, automotive, or high-volume manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Industrial IoT and AI-based predictive maintenance technologies.
- Experience leading equipment digitalization and automation projects.
