Principal DevOps Engineer

Qualification & Experience:
- Engineering/Technology Graduate/PostGraduate from Computer Science or Information Technology discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of industry experience in Cloud infrastructure orchestration, Application Stack Integration, CI/CD pipeline creation, and IT workflow automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applies DevOps thinking to bring development and IT ops processes, people, and tools closer together to increase speed, efficiency, and quality in delivering technical solutions.
- Architects project or program Deployment Pipelines, supporting the transition of application and infrastructure services from development to production.
- Defines and executes a balanced management methodology for organizing technical activities into coherent workstreams.
- Liaises with development teams, IT service groups, and third parties to promote process transparency and mutually beneficial design and delivery practices.
- Provides DevOps thought leadership and mentoring, focusing on continuous improvement in delivery approach.
- Mentors junior team members and guides them in application platform development.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for expressing technical ideas and initiatives.
- Designing, deploying, and operating highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems using leading cloud platforms.
- Wide and detailed understanding of cloud services such as GCP and AWS, with knowledge of other prominent platforms like Azure and IBM Cloud.
- Implementing Organizational DevOps strategy in various operating environments.
- Writing Infrastructure as Code using frameworks like Terraform, CloudFormation, and others.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools like Jenkins, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, etc.
- Automation using Configuration Management tools like Ansible.
- Skills to set up Docker container infrastructure and experience with orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes and Swarm.
- Exposure to build tools like Maven and bug tracking tools like JIRA.
- Proficiency in version control and source code management tools like Git.
- Good knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Shell or Python scripting for task automation.
- Familiarity with various operating systems like Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu, Windows, and CentOS.
- Strong interpersonal skills, motivation, fast learning ability, good team player, and proactive attitude.
Expected Credentials:
- Certifications relevant to cloud platforms (e.g., GCP Professional Certifications, AWS Certifications).
- GitHub profile demonstrating coding skills and programming proficiency.
- References to blogs or other publications demonstrating expertise and thought leadership in the field.
