Majestic Spice is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance across our spice sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, and private label operations. This is a remote, independent contractor position that works closely with management, suppliers, customers, and production teams to ensure products meet company specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. Travel to our Los Angeles facility is required a minimum of once per month, with all travel expenses covered by the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain quality assurance and food safety programs.
- Review and approve specifications, COAs, allergen declarations, and related documentation.
- Respond to customer quality inquiries and complete supplier/customer questionnaires.
- Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and customer requirements.
- Lead and prepare for internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Monitor retention samples, shelf-life evaluations, and quality records.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain and review quality documentation and certifications.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- Previous Quality Assurance experience in the food, spice, ingredient, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, FDA regulations, and food safety systems.
- Experience reviewing specifications, COAs, allergen statements, and technical documentation.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid passport and ability to travel to Los Angeles at least once per month.
Compensation
- Independent Contractor position.
- $800–$1,000 USD per month, depending on experience.
- Company-paid travel expenses for required Los Angeles visits.
