Your Role
As the Indirect Tax Manager, will focus on the VAT and IEPS Certification Program for Maquiladora entities and provides tax advisory support related to foreign trade operations (IMMEX, Customs, SAT). This role ensures ongoing regulatory compliance, preservation of IMMEX benefits, and mitigation of indirect tax risk through strong governance, technical expertise, and cross-functional leadership.
This candidate will sit onsite at the Koch Shared Services facility in Zapopan, Jalisco.
What you will do
- Lead end-to-end VUCEM filings, including the Application for Registration in the Companies Certification Scheme, ensuring compliance with RGCE Rules 7.1.1 and 7.1.2.
- Oversee IMMEX program compliance requirements, including Annex 31 monitoring, 60% return compliance, supplier validation under CFF Article 69-B, contractual alignment, and infrastructure requirements.

Coordinate and maintain IMSS evidence and related compliance documentation.

Manage SAT requests, audits, and information requirements; lead meetings and communications with tax authorities and external advisors.

Develop, implement, and monitor procedures, controls, and KPIs related to VAT, IEPS, and foreign trade compliance.

Provide VAT advisory and indirect tax support in partnership with the Tax Senior Manager.

Supervise and mentor a Senior Analyst, providing guidance, feedback, and development support.

Coordinate cross-functional remediation efforts across HR, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and Legal to address compliance gaps and risk mitigation initiatives.
Basic Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax Law, Foreign Trade, or a related field; postgraduate degree in taxation or foreign trade preferred.

Proven experience in indirect taxes and IMMEX/maquiladora environments, with strong exposure to VUCEM and SAT processes.

Demonstrated leadership, project management, and stakeholder negotiation skills.

Strong documentation management and regulatory compliance capabilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

Data and systems experience, with a demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and innovation.

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
