The CTO Rep plays a pivotal role in managing our international shipments, ensuring compliance with import and export regulations, and maintaining smooth and efficient operations within the global supply chain. This person possesses strong organizational skills, knowledge of international trade regulations, and the ability to effectively communicate with both internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities:
1. Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and review all necessary import and export documents, including customs forms, shipping manifests, and certificates of origin.
2. Shipment Coordination:
- Coordinate the shipment of goods, including negotiating freight rates, booking cargo space, and arranging transportation
3. Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and carriers regarding import and export inquiries.
4. Tariff Classification and Valuation:
- Familiarity with Mexican customs regulations and procedures, including import and export documentation requirements.
- Experience with Mexican taxation laws related to imports and exports, including Value Added Tax (VAT), duties, and the IMMEX Program.
5. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with international trade, customs compliance, and transportation, and implement mitigation strategies.
