A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Mechanical Simulation Engineer, the position will be integral to the Air Insulated Switchgear R&D function. To meet these objectives, the role will focus on three core areas: conducting advanced mechanical simulations and analysis, validating and optimizing product designs based on simulation outcomes, and ensuring effective technical collaboration and documentation within the development team. Given the focus on simulation-driven design, the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, demonstrated experience with FEA/FEM software, and a proven ability to translate analysis results into actionable design improvements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- 50% Mechanical Simulation & Analysis
- Develop and maintain finite element models (FEM) for structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis of air-insulated switchgear components.
- Execute simulations to predict product performance under various operational and environmental conditions, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Analyze and interpret simulation results to identify potential design weaknesses, stress concentrations, and thermal issues, providing clear conclusions.
- 30% Design Validation & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with design engineers to validate new product designs against performance requirements using simulation data.
- Propose and evaluate design modifications to improve product reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness within an Agile framework.
- Support the prototyping and testing phases by providing analytical insights to correlate simulation models with physical test results.
- 20% Technical Collaboration & Documentation
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports and summaries of simulation findings to project stakeholders and the development team.
- Actively participate in Agile development sprints, providing timely feedback and analysis to support rapid design iterations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of simulation models, methodologies, and results in accordance with internal quality processes.
